Drugs worth £10m seized from flat

Officers discovered 75kg of heroin at the property in Chalkhill Road, Wembley, at about 2200 BST on Friday. Police described the flat as a "major distribution centre" for the packaging and distribution of illegal drugs. Officers said they were led there after a man, aged 38, was arrested nearby carrying 4kg of heroin with an estimated street value of £500,000. A 22-year-old woman was also arrested at the flat. She and the man are being held at an east London police station. Det Insp Colin Stephenson said: "We are delighted that this operation has concluded with the seizure of such a large quantity of drugs. "We believe we have closed down a major drugs distribution centre in north London which would have led to the sale of drugs on streets across the capital." |
