In the wake of the MP expenses scandal, the <a class="inlineText" href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/mps-expenses/5409455/MPs-expeses-Gordon-Brown-considers-Lib-Dem-deal-in-reshaping-reshuffle.html">Daily Telegraph reports Gordon Brown is pondering bringing the Lib Dems closer to the centre of power.</a>

The paper says a reshuffle would offer Mr Brown the chance to wrest back some authority if Labour performs very badly in next week's elections.

A poll in the <a class="inlineText" href="http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/politics/article6390069.ece">Times suggests Labour is trailing UKIP </a> in the run-up to voting.

"I cannot recall a time when the party's members were more depressed," <a class="inlineText" href="http://www.independent.co.uk/opinion/commentators/steve-richards/steve-richards-behind-the-grins-labour--is-resigned-to-a-massacre-1693149.html">says the Independent's Steve Richards.</a>

Cameron 'ashamed'

David Cameron voices his concerns about the impact of the expenses scandal in a <a class="inlineText" href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/politics/david-cameron/5408871/MPs-expenses-David-Cameron-is-ashamed-by-whats-happened.html">Telegraph interview, saying he is "ashamed" of what's happened.</a>

"The lack of reasonableness and common sense has been shocking," he says.

The <a class="inlineText" href="http://www.mirror.co.uk/opinion/voiceofthemirror/2009/05/30/sack-him-cam-115875-21400287/">Daily Mirror urges the Tory leader to sack Bill Cash </a> - the MP caught up in some of the latest revelations.

The paper tells its readers Mr Cash - criticised for using public money to pay rent to his daughter - was forever demanding public spending cuts.

Motor 'breakthrough'

A number of the papers cast a wary eye over the deal to rescue General Motors European operations including the UK car maker Vauxhall.

The <a class="inlineText" href="http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/2456769/Deal-to-rescue-Vauxhall-jobs.html">Sun hails the takeover of the company by the Canadian firm Magna as a major breakthrough.</a>

The <a class="inlineText" href="http://www.mirror.co.uk/opinion/voiceofthemirror/2009/05/30/act-now-on-vauxhall-115875-21400288/">Daily Mirror warns ministers they must fight as hard as their German counterparts to save British jobs.</a>

The paper says there is a growing feeling that the government is not in the driving seat.

Britain's got excitement

There's no escaping the excitement about the final of Britain's Got Talent on many of the front pages.

And once again it is Susan Boyle who attracts much of the interest after the talk about her feeling the strain of sudden stardom.

The Daily Express says 20 <a class="inlineText" href="http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/104340/Talent-show-reaches-final-crescendo">million viewers will be glued</a> to their sets.

And win or lose, the Daily Mail points that out that Miss Boyle, <a class="inlineText" href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1189644/Win-lose-5m-windfall-Susan-Boyle--despite-wobbles.html">nicknamed the hairy angel,</a> is still in line for a massive windfall.
