Arrest after fatal M6 collision

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a lorry driver died in a collision with another lorry on the M6.

The 27-year-old man died at the scene of the crash which happened on the northbound carriageway between Rayhall and Wednesbury at about 0030 BST.

A 38-year-old man has been arrested, West Midlands Police said.

Debris was scattered across all three northbound lanes of the motorway, which was closed until 0700 BST.

Two men from one lorry were treated for the effects of shock, the ambulance service said.

Anyone who witnessed the crash, which happened between junctions seven and nine, has been asked to contact the police.
