The incident, involving a family from Cardiff, happened on the A40 in Whitchurch near Ross-on-Wye, on Monday.

The boy suffered a head injury and was airlifted to Birmingham Children's Hospital for treatment.

His mother and another child, believed to be an eight-year-old boy, were not injured, the ambulance service said.
