Tyson's daughter critically ill Tyson's daughter dies aged four
(about 16 hours later)
The daughter of US boxer Mike Tyson is in an "extremely critical condition" after becoming entangled in a cord from an exercise treadmill, police say. The four-year-old daughter of US boxer Mike Tyson has died, a day after she was injured while playing at home, police in Phoenix have said.
Four-year-old Exodus was found by her older brother with the cord around her neck at the family's home in Arizona. Exodus Tyson had been in hospital on life support since Monday, when she was found with her neck caught in a cable of a treadmill exercise machine.
Sgt Andy Hill, describing it as a "tragic accident", said the girl had either put her head in the looped cord or slipped and was unable to remove it. Mr Tyson, an ex-heavyweight champion, was in Las Vegas when it happened, but flew to Phoenix on Monday.

Sgt Hill said Exodus was on a life support machine in hospital. "I was just advised by investigators that Exodus Tyson was pronounced deceased at 1145 [local time on Tuesday - 0445 GMT] at the hospital," Phoenix police spokesman Andy Hill said in a statement. "Our sympathies go out to the family."
"Somehow she was playing on this treadmill, and there's a cord that hangs under the console - it's kind of a loop. Police had earlier said the girl was playing on the treadmill on Monday when her head apparently slipped inside a cord hanging under the console.
"Either she slipped or put her head in the loop, but it acted like a noose, and she was obviously unable to get herself off of it." They said the girl had either put her head in the looped cord or slipped and was unable to remove it.
