A statement from the model's management company said: "Danielle sustained a serious wound to her back which required stitches upon arrival at hospital." Elliot Sorene, a consultant in trauma and orthopaedic surgery, treated Ms Lloyd.
He said: "Whilst the whole experience for Ms Lloyd was exceptionally unfortunate, she is very lucky that the major blood vessels and arteries were not involved, otherwise she would have been left permanently paralysed."
He added Ms Lloyd, a former Big Brother contestant, would need two weeks of rest before "several months of intense physiotherapy".
