Crews from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service's Honiton station were mobilised and helped the man down.
'Very lucky' | |
The parachutist, who had carried out a number of jumps that day, is a member of Skydive UK Ltd which is based at the airfield.
A fire service spokesman said: "We were initially told that the man's injuries were quite severe but it seems he was very lucky.
"When we got to the airfield we gained access to the roof where the man had come around just moments before.
"He was able to walk down from the roof and was then treated at the scene by ambulance crews."
Jason Farrant, Skydive UK Ltd's chief instructor, added: "The parachutist is a member of our club and is a very experienced jumper.
"He had done multiple jumps yesterday but on this jump he tapped into another parachutist which he said led him to lose consciousness for a while.
"Fortunately he was ok in the end and just suffered a grazed knee." |
