A parachutist has been rescued from the metal roof of an aircraft hangar in Devon after he fell unconscious while jumping from an aeroplane. A parachutist had a lucky escape when he collided with a fellow jumper, lost consciousness and landed on an aircraft hangar in Devon, grazing just his knee.
He was making a jump over Dunkeswell Airfield near Honiton at about 2100 BST on Sunday when he lost consciousness. The man, who is in his mid-20s and from Bournemouth, was making a jump over Dunkeswell Airfield near Honiton when the accident happened on Sunday night.

A fire service spokesman said: "We were initially told that the man's injuries were quite severe. 'Very lucky'
"When we got to the airfield we gained access to the roof and the man came around and was able to walk down from the roof. The parachutist, who had carried out a number of jumps that day, is a member of Skydive UK Ltd which is based at the airfield.
"He was then treated at the scene by ambulance crews but we do not know the extent of his injuries." A fire service spokesman said: "We were initially told that the man's injuries were quite severe but it seems he was very lucky.
"When we got to the airfield we gained access to the roof where the man had come around just moments before.
"He was able to walk down from the roof and was then treated at the scene by ambulance crews."
Jason Farrant, Skydive UK Ltd's chief instructor, added: "The parachutist is a member of our club and is a very experienced jumper.
"He had done multiple jumps yesterday but on this jump he tapped into another parachutist which he said led him to lose consciousness for a while.
"Fortunately he was ok in the end and just suffered a grazed knee."
