A man has been charged over an attack which left a police community support officer (PCSO) with a broken nose.A man has been charged over an attack which left a police community support officer (PCSO) with a broken nose.
The PCSO had been on patrol in Brook Road, Wombourne, Staffordshire, when he was attacked on Friday night. Michael Craig Gill, 23, of Lilac Drive, Wombourne, Staffordshire, appeared at Stoke-on-Trent Magistrates' Court where he was charged with violent disorder.
Michael Craig Gill, 23, of Lilac Drive, Wombourne, was charged with violent disorder and assault occasioning grievous bodily harm, police said. He was also charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm over the incident when the PCOS was on patrol in Wombourne on Friday night.
He is due to appear before magistrates in Stoke-on-Trent on Monday. Four other men have been released on police bail. Mr Gill was remanded in custody to appear before magistrates on 28 May.
Four other men who were arrested in connection with the incident have been released on police bail.
