Officials have identified a man taken into custody after a speeding vehicle ploughed into Christmas parade in the US state of Wisconsin, US media report. Wisconsin officials have identified five victims, aged between 52 and 81, killed by a speeding vehicle that ploughed into a Christmas parade.
Sources told US outlets Darrell Edward Brooks Jr, 39, drove the red SUV that hit and killed at least five people and injured over 40 others in Waukesha. School children and a dance troupe of grannies are believed to be among the victims of Sunday's tragedy. The suspect was escaping the scene of a domestic disturbance moments before he entered the parade, police said.
Police declined to confirm or deny the identity of the suspect to the BBC. They added that Sunday's incident was not an act of terrorism.
The incident does not appear "at this time" to be an act of terrorism, an official said earlier.

"The lone subject intentionally drove his maroon SUV through barricades and into a crowd of people that was celebrating," Waukesha police chief Dan Thompson told reporters at a news conference on Monday.
Police said Mr Brooks has been charged with five counts of intentional homicide.
