Motorist dies after lorry crash

A motorist has died after a collision involving a car and a lorry on the A465 Heads of the Valleys road in south Wales.

Police are appealing for information on the crash which happened at around 1600 BST near Gilwern, Abergavenny, Gwent.

The road between the Conoco Roundabout and Gilwern was closed in both directions. Police said it was reopened at around 2200 BST on Wednesday.

Five fire crews were called to the scene of the collision.

Gwent Police warned motorists to expect delays and avoid the area.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service crews from Brynmawr, Abergavenny, Ebbw Vale and Malpas were called to the scene.
