Court begins Misbah case hearing Misbah's father turns down deal

A court in Pakistan has begun considering the future of runaway schoolgirl Misbah Ranah. The father of runaway schoolgirl Misbah Rana has rejected the terms of her mother's offer to settle out-of-court.
The 12-year-old left her mother's home in Scotland for Pakistan last August. Louise Campbell was prepared to drop her claim for full custody of her daughter if Misbah was allowed to visit her in Scotland.
The case called at the Supreme Court in Islamabad but was adjourned after a proposal from Misbah's mother, Louise Campbell, requesting holiday visits. However, Sajad Rana said if the girl went to the UK she would be "prevented from returning" to him in Pakistan.
Ms Campbell has offered to drop her claim for full custody provided she has regular contact with her daughter, who is living with her father, Sajad Rana. The case being heard at the Supreme Court in Islamabad was adjourned until Thursday.
It is still not clear whether the case will be decided on Wednesday. The 12-year-old, also known as Molly Campbell, left her mother's home in Scotland for Pakistan last August.
