Juan Carlos Suarez Crispin is accused of killing pizzeria manager Ms Pachou in Di Maggio's restaurant in the west end of Glasgow in May last year. In his charge to the jury, judge Lord Turnbull told them not to consider the lesser charge of culpable homicide. Lord Turnbull also praised Ms Pachou's family for the "dignified manner in which they behaved" during the trial. He told jurors they could accept some parts of the evidence given by witnesses and reject other parts. He added: "It is your responsibility to access the evidence and decide what is important and what is not and what is established and what is not. "You must not speculate or guess or allow yourselves to be swayed by emotion. "You should put all thought of consequences out of your minds." Lord Turnbull also told the jury that Marion Hinshelwood, 44, had pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of culpable homicide on an art and part basis having bought the knife which she believed was going to be used for a crime. |
