Climber dies in mountain accident Second rescue after climber dies

A man has died after falling while climbing in the Cuillins on Skye. Rescue teams have gone to the aid of an injured man in the Cuillins on Skye just hours after another climber died in the mountain range.
Rescuers were called out to a report of two climbers who had fallen near the Am Bastier Ridge and found one of the pair dead at the scene. Skye Mountain Rescue Team and Stornoway Coastguard helicopter have been scrambled.
The accident happened at about 1430 BST on Monday. The man's details have not yet been released. Police said the man fell about 30m from the summit of Sgurr Nan Eag.
A total of 18 members of Skye Mountain rescue team and the coastguard helicopter from Stornoway were involved in the operation. A man died after falling along with another climber near the Am Bastier Ridge at about 1430 BST on Monday. His details have not yet been released.
On the latest rescue effort, Northern Constabulary said: "Twelve members of the Skye Mountain Rescue Team are currently making their way to the casualty, who is in contact with rescuers by phone.
"Visibility in the area is very poor and Stornoway coastguard helicopter R100 has been contacted to assist."
Eighteen members of Skye Mountain rescue team and the coastguard helicopter from Stornoway were involved in the earlier operation.
