Syrian air defenses engage ‘hostile missiles’ south of Palmyra – state media | Syrian air defenses engage ‘hostile missiles’ south of Palmyra – state media |

Syria’s air defenses activated against “hostile targets” near the central city of Palmyra, according to the state-run Syrian Arab News Agency, as unconfirmed reports suggested additional strikes further south around Al-Tanf.
The attack near Palmyra came in the late hours of Wednesday night, SANA reported, though offered no other details about the strikes or whether any munitions were intercepted. Syrian state media routinely pins similar attacks on the Israeli military, though SANA did not do so after Wednesday’s reported incursion, referring only to "hostile targets." Al-Ikhbariya TV, a state-run station, did, however, report the strikes as Israeli, according to Haaretz.
Other unconfirmed reports circulating online indicated that missiles were also spotted over al-Tanf, some 75 miles (122 kilometers) south of Palmyra, near the three-way Syria-Jordan-Iraq border.
