The search for a 33-year-old man missing after he and his partner were swept away by a river in Ayrshire has resumed. Family members have been told that the body of a 33-year-old man missing in a swollen Ayrshire river has been recovered, BBC Scotland understands.
The couple entered the swollen River Garnock at Kilwinning at about 1400 BST on Sunday, apparently in an attempt to rescue one of their two pet dogs. Darren Greenan was swept away after he and his partner Laura Frey entered the River Garnock at about 1400 BST on Sunday, to try to save their pet dogs.
The woman was dragged to shore by the emergency services and is in a critical but stable condition in hospital. Ms Frey remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.
