Lebanon arrests two more 'spies'

The Lebanese authorities have arrested two brothers on suspicion for spying for Israel.

They were detained in the town of Ghaziye, near the southern port of Sidon. They are being questioned and their houses searched.

So far, 18 people have been arrested on suspicion of spying for Israel since January. Three have been released.

Most recently, a Lebanese policeman, his wife and "three unidentified suspects" were detained on Sunday.

Last month, a former brigadier general and his wife were arrested, and accused of sending classified information to Mossad.

He was said to have had in his possession "sophisticated espionage equipment", including a device disguised as a mini-bar.

Israel has said that it is not its policy to comment on such spying allegations.
