He is to appear at Larne Magistrates' Court on Friday morning. Martin Thomas Fleming, 50, from Churchill Road, Larne, was remanded in custody until later this month at Larne Magistrates Court on Friday.
Mr Kerr was shot dead last week at his home in the old village area of Templepatrick following a struggle with two intruders. A detective told the court he believed he could connect the accused to the charge. Mr Fleming spoke only to confirm he understood the charge.
