Train stopped for robbery arrests

Police in Lancashire stopped a train to arrest three people, including a 13-year-old boy, over a bank robbery.

The Bradford and Bingley in Blackpool was raided on Wednesday lunchtime.

A car believed to have been used in the incident was found at Blackpool North station and a 42-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested.

Later, a train was stopped near Kirkham and two men, aged 19 and 36, and a boy, 13, were arrested. They were later released without charge.

The 42-year-old man is still being held on suspicion of robbery.

Det Insp Sue Cawley , of Lancashire police, said: "This is a serious incident and luckily nobody was hurt.

"I would like to thank the passengers on the train who were patient and very cooperative while we carried out the arrests and searched the train."
