Hit-and-run appeal to car owner

The parents of an 11-year-old boy from Bristol who died in a hit-and-run crash are to appeal to the woman police are trying to trace to give herself up. Martin and Rachel Riddall will make their plea at a news conference in the city later. Sam Riddall was hit by a white Ford Focus on Eastfield Road, Westbury-on-Trym, on 1 May at 2115 BST. The car is registered to Hannah Saaf, 27, whom police say has been spotted in Bristol since the incident. 'Loveable boy' It is not known whether she was driving the vehicle at the time, police said. A spokesman said officers needed to speak to Ms Saaf as a matter of urgency and there were concerns for her welfare. Sam was killed when walking home after attending a church group. He became trapped underneath the vehicle, police said. Sam's parents released a statement saying he was "a sociable, loveable 11-year-old who enjoyed playing football". |
