Moscow is set to dispatch 30 of its most modern battle tanks to Tajikistan, on the fractious frontier with Afghanistan, in an effort to shore up the shared border after American forces withdrew from the region in recent weeks. In a statement issued by Russian defense chiefs on Friday, officials said that the latest hardware would be shipped to troops stationed in the mountainous Central Asian nation.
