The unmarked police vehicle stopped at Summer Place in Fallowfield after seeing a large group gathered. The group began to run off and one of the officers saw a man, who he thought was wanted, get into a Volkswagen Golf. The officers tried to stop the car from driving off by blocking it in, but it rammed their car four times, before driving off. Extensive damage Sgt Chris Downey, of Greater Manchester Police, said: "This incident could have ended very differently and it is very lucky no one was injured. "The officers were not able to trace the red Golf after it managed to get away." Both cars suffered extensive damage in the incident on Sunday night. Police are urging anyone who may know where the Golf is, to contact them. |
