A suicide bomber has killed at least four Pakistani security personnel in the north-west of the country.

The attacker rammed his explosive-laden car into a military vehicle near Peshawar, the capital of North West Frontier Province, police said.

It is not yet known who is behind the attack, but Taleban militants are known to be active in the province.

In recent months violence has surged in north-western Pakistan with a wave of attacks blamed on the militants.

The latest attack has left several people injured.
