Sammy the cat was at the centre of an eye-watering drama at the top of a tree in Limekilns, Fife. He is thought to have been up there as long as nine days before being rescued. Cue references to potential "catastrophe" and "purrfect" endings. <a class="inlineText" href="http://www.thisisstaffordshire.co.uk/news/Runaway-van-kills-Stoke-City-fan/article-942949-detail/article.html">"RUNAWAY VAN KILLS SON"</a> Taken by Builder-bob at Wardle Service Station, Knypersley Road, Norton-in-the-Moors, Stoke on Trent on 28 April This sad story is about the death of Dave Smith, who was hit by a van. The incident happened in central London, where Mr Smith had moved to work, but he was from Alsager and was a Stoke City fan. <a class="inlineText" href="http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/s/1112087_tycoon_charges_a_sham">"BOLTON: 'I WAS SET UP' - SEX TRIAL TYCOON"</a> Taken by Matthew Wilkinson in Brownlow Fold, Bolton on 29 April. This billboard refers to coverage from the trial of a Bolton millionaire for a sex assault on a woman at his home. <a class="inlineText" href="http://edinburghnews.scotsman.com/topstories/Yobs-smash-chef39s-head-on.5211784.jp">"RACIST THUGS SMASH DAD'S HEAD ON ROAD"</a> Taken by Mojtaba Hadian in Edinburgh on 28 April. This story is about an attack on a chef, thought to be racially motivated, which left him with a broken nose, damaged knee and cuts and bruises. <a class="inlineText" href="http://www.thisiskent.co.uk/news/Men-Herne-Bay-caught-Whitstable-socks/article-935722-detail/article.html">"POLICE ARREST MEN IN SOCKS"</a> Taken by Ben Strowger on 25 April. This extraordinary tale is about two men accused of going equipped to burgle... with a pair of socks. |
