Results of some of the swine flu tests being carried out on 23 people across Scotland are expected back on Wednesday.
Among those undergoing the tests are nine people who have been in close contact with Mr and Mrs Askham.
It is understood seven of those have tested negative, while results on the other two are pending.
Another 14 people with travel links to Mexico or affected parts of the United States have also shown mild symptoms of swine flu and are being tested.
The cases came from several health board areas - Greater Glasgow, Lothians, Grampian, Tayside and Lanarkshire.
Initial results of the tests are expected around the time of a statement to the Scottish Parliament by the Scottish Health Minister Nicola Sturgeon, which is due at 1435 BST.
