The body of an oilworker missing from a platform in the North Sea has been found following an underwater search. The body of a man has been found during the hunt for an oilworker missing from a platform in the North Sea.
A remotely operated submersible found the body of Martin Lindsay at about 1700 BST on Tuesday underneath the Beryl Alpha platform. Martin Lindsay, 51, from Cleveland, Teesside, went missing from the Beryl Alpha, off Shetland, on Tuesday.
The 51-year-old, from Teesside, worked for oil services firm Petrofac at the site, 90 miles east of Shetland. A remotely operated submersible found the body of a man under the platform during a search.
Searches had taken place after he disappeared while performing routine checks early on Tuesday. Grampian Police said arrangements were being made for the recovery of the body, and Mr Lindsay's relatives had been informed of developments.
Air and sea searches had taken place after he disappeared early on Tuesday.
