Three people killed in car crash Couple among three dead in crash

Two men and a woman have died in a car crash in County Tyrone. A married couple returning from a dance were among three people who died in an accident in County Tyrone.
Four other people were taken to Craigavon hospital by ambulance after the collision between two cars on the Drum Road in Cookstown. Four others were taken to hospital after the two-car collision on the Drum Road outside Cookstown shortly before 0100 BST on Monday.
It happened shortly before 0100 BST on Monday. When the emergency services arrived at the scene, they found a man and a woman already dead. Peter and Kathleen Toner, aged 78 and 67, from Keenaghan Road, Pomeroy, were pronounced dead at the scene by the emergency services.
Another man died later. Fire crews had to use hydraulic equipment to cut people out of the two cars. David Joel Marshall, 19, from Doogary Road in Omagh, died later.
A man and a woman who were injured in the accident are in a serious but stable condition in hospital. Two younger people are in a stable condition. Sinn Féin councillor Sean Clarke said he knew Mr and Mrs Toner.
"They were a couple who were very jovial, happy people who enjoyed going out to an old-time dance at the weekend," he said.
"A young man was also killed in the accident and my sympathy goes out to that family as well.
"Another young life has been taken away."
A woman who was injured in the accident remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.
A man and two teenage males are also in hospital, where their condition is described as stable.

The cars were travelling in opposite directions when the crash happened.
The Toners were in the back of one car while Mr Marshal was in the front passenger seat of the other car.
