Insp Ewan Innes said: "Our inquiries into the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate collision are continuing and we are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have encountered Mr Lammie and his friend walking along the B9001 prior to the collision, or who may have seen them within Inverurie, or elsewhere, during Saturday evening." He was a junior footballer with Oakley United and was described by former club chairman, Jock Haddow, as a "great lad and a good player".
