Woman held in canal body inquiry

A Polish woman wanted in connection with the murder of a man whose body was found in Regents Park canal in 2006 has been arrested in Dublin.

Magdalena Zajdel, 23, is being held under a European arrest warrant and is awaiting extradition to the UK, Scotland Yard said.

Lithuanian Patrick Linkavicius, 30, of no fixed address, was pulled from the canal at Hawley Lock in September 2006.

The cause of his death was given at the time as drowning.
