Police spend night at siege scene Two arrests following armed siege

Armed police officers have been at a block of flats for more than 10 hours after reports of intruders carrying weapons entering the building. A woman and two children have been led to safety by armed police after officers surrounded a block of flats during the night.
There was a disturbance inside one of the flats at Franklin Court, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, entered by the men. Police were called to Franklin Court, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, after a report of a burglary. Two armed men had entered one of the flats.
Threats were made to police officers and armed response teams were called to the scene. A police cordon has been put in place. Armed units were called in after threats were made to the police. Two people were later arrested.
Police negotiators have made contact with one of the men. The woman and her children were not hurt in the incident.
The incident began at about 2155 GMT on Thursday and ended on Friday morning.
