A Scottish Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the casualties had suffered "burns to the upper body, the head, the face and the arms".
She added: "The full part of the front of the building was blown out.
"There's no side part of it, it's completely blown off."
Scotland Gas Network and Scottish Power have been at the scene, as well as officials from Renfrewshire Council.
Strathclyde Police said inquiries were underway "into the cause of the explosion".
