Shetty 'so bossy' on Big Brother

One of Bollywood's most famous stars, Shilpa Shetty, has been called "bossy" and "fake" by other women in the UK television show Celebrity Big Brother.

The film star, 31, appears to have got under the skin of some of her fellow housemates - female and male - in different ways over the past week.

Former Miss Great Britain Danielle Lloyd told other female contestants she thought the actress was "controlling".

But Shetty is a hit with the men, one of whom admitted to flirting with her.

'Quite sad'

Tension in the Big Brother house surfaced on Tuesday when a number of female contestants had a bitch about the actress.

"I asked for smoked mackerel and whatshername, Shullup, just looked at me like I was stupid," complained former beauty queen Danielle Lloyd, who is not the only member of the house who has trouble pronouncing Shetty's name.

"She's so controlling and bossy, I don't like that."

Two other women agreed that the star was "too fake", but a third said Shetty was being singled out unfairly.

"I think some people are starting to pick on Shilpa, they need someone to moan about. It's quite sad really because she's done nothing wrong," journalist Carol Malone said.

Observers say Shetty - who has appeared in more than 30 Hindi films - has been included in the show to spice things up.

She snuggled up in the garden with former Steps star Ian "H" Watkins. The two sang songs to each other before being interrupted.

And A-Team star Dirk Benedict says he doesn't feel close enough to her.

Speaking to Big Brother in the Diary Room, he said: "Although I can't pronounce her name, which is a hindrance, I've been flirting with her; I have to stop doing that."
