Actor Mathew Horne is to return to the West End in the play Entertaining Mr Sloane on Monday night after collapsing on stage last week. The star missed four performances after being taken ill with a virus and was replaced by an understudy. Actress Imelda Staunton, who cancelled her appearances in the show after coming down with the same illness, will also be returning. The play is due to close on 11 April after its scheduled 12-week run. "I am delighted to say I am feeling much better and will return to the show tonight for the final week," Horne said. "I feel terrible for letting audience members down last week when I was ill and I am so grateful for the wonderful letters of well wishes from everyone. "We have all had an amazing time working on Sloane since January and I am just glad to be back in full health for the final week of this tremendous production." The Gavin and Stacey star was treated on stage by an ambulance crew after he collapsed during Thursday's matinee performance before he was taken to hospital for tests. He was released later the same day. |
