A CHC spokesperson said: "CHC can confirm that an EC225 aircraft made a precautionary landing this morning after indications of a fuel-related technical issue aboard.
"The aircraft was returning to Aberdeen from the Sedco 714 drilling rig, with 19 passengers and two crew aboard, when it made the precautionary landing aboard the Safe Caledonia, approximately 240km east of Aberdeen.
"It landed safely and will be returned to service after a full engineering check is completed."
