Man charged with woman's murder Murder remand over wife's death

A man has been charged with murder after a 44-year-old woman died in hospital following an incident at a house in the Cynon Valley. A man has been remanded in custody by magistrates at Merthyr Tydfil charged with murdering his wife.
Officers were called to Park View Terrace in Abercwmboi, Rhondda Cynon Taf, at around 1915 BST on Friday. Richard Williams, 44, is accused of killing his wife Lorraine, also 44, at their home in Abercwmboi, Rhondda Cynon Taf on Friday night.
Lorraine Williams was taken to Prince Charles Hospital, Merthyr Tydfil, where she died later. Police were called to the house on Park View Terrace but Mrs Williams died later in Prince Charles hospital.
South Wales Police said a 44-year-old local man was due to appear at Merthyr Magistrates Court on Monday. Magistrates remanded Mr Williams in custody and to appear at Merthyr Crown Court on 14 April.
Police have set up a major incident room at Mountain Ash police station and are appealing for further information.
