Police investigating the disappearance of York University chef Claudia Lawrence say they have now received more than 450 calls from the public. Officers also said they had searched more than 220 separate locations in their hunt for the 35-year-old, who was last seen leaving work on 18 March. More than 100 officers have carried out searches of homes and gardens in the Heworth and Tang hall areas of York. Local streams, the River Foss and the university lake have all been searched. Miss Lawrence vanished without taking her money, bank cards or passport and friends and family said her disappearance was "totally out of character". Det Supt Ray Galloway, who is leading the investigation, said he feared she may have "come to harm" after meeting somebody she knew. Miss Lawrence is described as white, 5ft 6ins, slim with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, blue skinny jeans and white trainers. |
