There has been an incident in Parliament in which at least one person was subdued with CS spray and arrested, police sources have confirmed. Police have used CS spray and arrested a man after a fight between journalists in the Houses of Parliament.
The fracas involved guests at a party thrown by Conservative party chairman Eric Pickles, the person who was arrested is thought to be a journalist. The scuffle involved two guests at a Commons party hosted by Conservative chairman Eric Pickles on Monday night.
It is understood the row started at the party and continued in a nearby corridor when an officer intervened. The pair, who Tory sources identified as journalists, left the event but continued arguing and were stopped in the corridor by a police officer.
A police officer received minor injuries in the incident. One man was aggressive and CS spray was used. He was arrested and taken to a nearby police station for questioning.
Commons authorities confirmed the incident was not terrorist related or linked to the G20 meeting of world leaders in London later this week. Some of the guests at the event told BBC they thought it was an over-reaction but Commons sources said a police officer received minor injuries in the incident.
The authorities said a police officer stopped two individuals in a private area of the Palace of Westminster - reported to be close to the offices of senior ministers and the Commons chamber itself - after one of them became aggressive. Security questions

It is understood that the incident happened in the corridor behind the Speaker's chair, at the same time as MPs were debating Africa.
Sources said parliamentary sittings had not been disrupted.
