Murder charge in stabbed OAP case

A 22-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a woman as she was waited in the street for a lift.

Gwen Poole, 66, was stabbed as she waited in Llanbradach, Caerphilly on Tuesday evening.

Gwent Police said the man, from New Tredgar, is due to appear before Newport Magistrates' Court on Saturday.

Mrs Poole had been waiting for a friend from Llanbradach social club to play in a skittles match when she was fatally injured.
