Police investigating the death of a nine-year-old boy after he was hit by two cars while out on his bicycle say they have arrested two people. The parents of a nine-year-old boy who died after he was hit by two cars while out on his bicycle have paid tribute to a "lovely lad".
One of the car drivers involved in the collision at Overton, near Wrexham, on Thursday evening failed to stop. Robert Gaunt died in hospital on Saturday after the collision at Overton, near Wrexham, on Thursday.
Officers said a man, aged 61, and a woman, 58, from the Wrexham area, were being held in custody. His parents, Dawn Richards and Robert Jones, said he would be missed by all his friends.
The boy, Robert James Gaunt, who was from the Overton area, died in hospital in Liverpool on Saturday morning. North Wales Police said one of the car drivers failed to stop. A man, 61, and a woman, 58, have been arrested.
Robbie, as he was known, died at 1130 GMT on Saturday in Alder Hey Hospital, Liverpool, after he was initially taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital.
In a tribute issued via the police, his parents said he had an outgoing personality and like any other lad was popular in the village.
'Especially missed'
"He is going to be missed by all his friends in Overton and Penycae and also by his school friends at St Christopher's," they said.
"He will be especially missed by his mother and father, his brothers and sisters and all his relatives and close friends."

Robert died at 1130 GMT on Saturday in Alder Hey Hospital, Liverpool, as a result of his injuries. Later on Sunday they issued a statement saying forensic investigation in their enquiry were being are centred around Moorland Avenue and Harvard Way in Wrexham.
He was initially taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital before being transferred to Alder Hey. A man and woman, both from the Wrexham area, were arrested on Sunday and remained in custody for questioning.
