Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man died following a fight outside a Birmingham pub.

The man was found lying in the street with serious head injuries after the fight outside The Fordrough pub in West Heath on Friday night, police said.

The 46-year-old man, from Birmingham, was pronounced dead in hospital. His family were being informed.

Police said it was "unclear" how he was injured but a fight involving a number of people was being investigated.

West Midlands Police want to hear from anyone who was in or around The Fordrough pub on Friday night.

The disorder occurred at about 2330 GMT outside the pub at the junction of Fordrough Road and West Heath Road.

A post-mortem examination would be held on the victim "in due course", a police spokeswoman added.
