Shots are fired at home in estate Death threats 'linked to drugs'

A number of shots have been fired at a house in Bangor. Eight community workers in North Down have received death threats from a gang involved in drugs, it has been claimed.
The attack happened at Ballyree Drive in the town's Bloomfield estate shortly before 2000 GMT. Mark Gordon, a community worker, was speaking after an attack on the home of a colleague in Bangor.
No-one was in the house and only minor damage was caused to the house. Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them. It is believed a baseball bat may have been used in the attack at Ballyree Drive in the Bloomfield estate shortly before 2000 GMT. No-one was inside.
Mr Gordon said police had told them that a gang had been "stepping up efforts to eliminate us".
"Eight people have received, to date, 17 death threats over a two to three week period," he said.
However, he said workers would not be deterred from working against drugs.
