Death threats 'linked to drugs' | |

Eight community workers in North Down have received death threats from a gang involved in drugs, it has been claimed. | |
Mark Gordon, a community worker, was speaking after an attack on the home of a colleague in Bangor. | |
It is believed a baseball bat may have been used in the attack at Ballyree Drive in the Bloomfield estate shortly before 2000 GMT. No-one was inside. | |
Mr Gordon said police had told them that a gang had been "stepping up efforts to eliminate us". | |
"Eight people have received, to date, 17 death threats over a two to three week period," he said. | |
However, he said workers would not be deterred from working against drugs. | |
