The lane has been closed to traffic and all transport to the area has been diverted. The fire is in the Immigration and Appeals Commission building in Bream Buildings.

Andrew Tipler, an employee at the Salad Factory on Chancery Lane, said he can see and smell smoke but cannot see any flames.
He said the police have not instructed them to evacuate the premises.
The road has been closed at the High Holborn end and the police said they may close the Fleet Street end as well, Mr Tipler said.
