Body confirmed as missing mother

Forensic science experts have confirmed a body recovered from a river in Northamptonshire on 13 March is that of missing woman Gillian Merrick.

Her body was found in the River Nene at Tansor. She had been missing from her Oundle home since 2 January.

After her disappearance, police spent about 10 days searching the Merrick family home.

Searches were also carried out in and around Oundle by police and volunteers while divers searched inland waterways.
