Flights to and from Aberdeen Airport are being delayed after protesters cut through a perimeter fence and barricaded themselves on a taxiway. Seven protesters who were barricaded inside a "wire fortress" on the tarmac at Aberdeen Airport have voluntarily released themselves.
Seven protesters from the Plane Stupid group have placed themselves inside a "wire fortress" on a helicopter taxiway on the east of the airfield. The protesters from the campaign group Plane Stupid were taken into custody at about 0820 GMT.
Police said two protesters were on the roof of the terminal building. The protest began at about 0315 GMT. Grampian Police said two protestors remained on the roof of the main terminal building.
BAA said flights were affected but the airport was not closed. No flights have been able to go to or from Aberdeen Airport since the protest began at about 0315 GMT.
