Two people are being questioned over the attempted robbery of a lorry in north Warwickshire in an incident in which a man was fatally stabbed.

Dean Skidmore, 36, of Brierley Hill, died as a result of Thursday morning's incident. His companions, 34 and 15, were questioned on Friday.

A lorry driver, 41, was arrested over the death and has since been bailed.

The lorry was loaded with designer t-shirts and was parked in Station Road Industrial Estate, in Coleshill.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said Mr Skidmore, the 36-year-old and the 15-year-old drove to Sandwell Hospital in the West Midlands with suspected stab wounds early on Thursday morning.

Mr Skidmore was declared dead shortly after his arrival.

The other males were treated for injuries and were then questioned by police on their release from hospital on Friday.

On Sunday, Warwickshire Police said it had been granted an "extension of detention" to further question the two males in connection with the attempted robbery.

Anyone who saw a dark blue Subaru on the northbound carriageway of the M6 between junctions six and seven on Thursday between 0620 and 0630 GMT is asked to contact police.
