A woman armed with a handgun has robbed a chemist in Kircubbin, County Down. Police have made an arrest after a woman in her 50s was threatened at gunpoint during an attempted robbery in Donaghadee, County Down.
She was wearing a high visibility fluorescent type jacket when she entered the premises at Main Street at 1230 GMT. The incident happened on the village's Main Street at about 1910 GMT on Thursday.
The woman forced staff to hand over prescription drugs before making off in the direction of Parsonage Road in a white car, driven by another person. A woman in her 30s was arrested after a car was stopped at nearby Cloghy Road
Police are investigating a link to an armed robbery of a chemist in Comber by a woman on Wednesday. Police are investigating a possible link with armed robberies at chemists in Comber and Kircubbin on Wednesday and Thursday.
In this incident, the woman was described as wearing a high-visibility type fluorescent jacket , being about 5ft 9ins tall, in her 30s or 40s, of slim build, and having her hair in a pony-tail.
She was wearing red rimmed glasses, black trouser and black boots.
