A jury has retired to consider its verdict on a man accused of killing a former police officer who was accused of possessing child pornography.

Daniel Marcel Williams, aged 30, denies murdering Geoffrey Harries, 49, on 7 June in Trimsaran, Carmarthenshire.

The former Dyfed-Powys officer, who was awaiting trial. was stabbed 20 times, Swansea Crown Court has heard.

Mr Williams told the jury he had acted in self-defence in the belief Mr Harris was going to kill him.

He said he had been trying to leave the scene in Dythel Park after puncturing a tyre on Mr Harries' van when the ex policeman ran after him and attacked him.

The prosecution claim that Mr Williams was angry after hearing that Mr Harries was awaiting trial.
