Two charged over shooting in park

Police investigating the shooting of a 17-year-old boy in a Greater Manchester park have charged two youths with conspiracy to murder.

The boy was shot in the back, stomach and leg as he cycled through Longford Park, Stretford, on 29 December.

He needed emergency surgery following the shooting and remains in hospital.

Neville Paul, 18, of Warrington, Cheshire, and a 15-year-old boy from Stretford are due before Trafford magistrates on Friday.

The 15-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is also charged with robbery.
