Seven charged after death crash

Seven people have been charged over a car crash on the A52 in Derbyshire which killed three people.

Alice Greenwood, 12, of Pontefract, West Yorkshire, Andrew Sellers, 18 and Liam Connell, 16, both from Ashbourne, Derbyshire, were killed in the crash.

Four males, one aged 17, two aged 18 and one aged 19, have been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

A woman, aged 20, a 16-year-old girl and a man, 18, have been charged with perverting the course of justice.

Two of those charged with causing death by dangerous driving, one of the 18-year-olds and the 19-year-old, have also been charged with perverting the course of justice.

All seven have been released on police bail to appear before Derby magistrates on 2 March.

Alice Greenwood, who was a passenger in the Volkswagen Passat her mother was driving, died when it was in collision with a Vauxhall Corsa driven by Andrew Sellers, who also died in the crash.

Liam Connell, a passenger in the Corsa, was also killed in the crash on 20 October 2008 at Kirk Langley.
