Animal welfare workers and police have carried out a series of raids in County Armagh over allegations of badger baiting.

At least three raids took place on Saturday. Police were working in partnership with the Ulster Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Animals.

A police spokeswoman said the raids followed reports of animal cruelty.

It is understood that a number of dogs were removed from one place. No arrests were made and inquiries are continuing.
