The stricken aircraft which ditched in the North Sea on Wednesday has been pulled from the sea. The wreckage of a helicopter which ditched in the North Sea on its way to an oil rig has been salvaged.
Two life rafts used by 18 people in the evacuation of the helicopter have also been recovered and were brought ashore in Aberdeen. Eighteen people were saved in a "text book rescue" when the Eurocopter Super Puma crashed about 125 miles east of Aberdeen.
The fuselage and life rafts were taken from the scene 125 miles off the north-east port by oil support vessels. Two life rafts used in the evacuation have also been recovered and have been brought ashore in Aberdeen.
An Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) spokesman said the wreckage would arrive in Aberdeen on Sunday. The fuselage and life rafts were being transported by oil support vessels. The wreckage is still en route to Aberdeen.
